  • Our user base was determined to not have high level technical skills, so familiarity and accessibility were guiding principles.

  • I focused on principles of high usability and accessibility at the expense of aesthetics.

  • Several times, I went onsite to do in person observations of users with the product in a real-world environment.

  • These visits were invaluable to the project and led to many substantial improvements to the product.

  • I would observe usability problems on the ground and report design solutions back to the developers in real-time.
