Making work matter with onsite productivity tools
Creating an innovative application for real-time productivity reporting for the manufacturing industry.
I was asked to join an early-stage startup to design the second version of their app. I had to get my head around a complex problem. I grew a lot by being the sole Product Designer at the company.
One of the main problems was trying to create a product that was flexible enough to scale to many clients. This would prevent us from having to fully customize the app for every deployment.
I used the industry knowledge of company leaders to craft proto-personas to influence the design of our product.
I performed a design brief to ensure I was working under the proper constraints for our product and business.
Data viz and adjustment concept
The app needed to have a way of visualizing and adjusting data. These are some early concept sketches.
Data input research and ideation
I explored different ways of numerical input for our app interface.
I created low-fidelity sketches to validate workflows with stakeholders.
I only spent about a year with the company, but the product is being used by real companies. I learned so much while at this startup, it helped influence my design style today of being fast-paced and results driven.
